Return of the Flail: FlailFest 2025

Coeur Climbing Company is back with your favorite event of the year: FlailFest 2025, our fun climbing competition in Post Falls, ID! This bouldering comp will feature a variety of routes that are accessible for all ages and skill levels, so come compete, learn, and connect with climbers from across the region. Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 15th for our third annual fall competition!

What is FlailFest?

Featuring over 40 problems that will tantalize and dishearten you, FlailFest25 promises to be the premier local bouldering event of the season. Prizes from a variety of sponsors will be available for every category and age group, so you’ll only be competing against similarly skilled climbers.

Not competing? Come as a spectator to witness the Flail. We’ll have food and drink available for everyone! Sushi Sensei and Post Falls Brewing Co are back this year with amazing sushi and beer. During the intermission period before the Finals participants are summoned to the stage, we’ll be handing out prizes, as well as hosting a dyno competition for everyone’s thrilling entertainment!

When and Where is FlailFest 2025?

  • Saturday, Nov 15

  • Your absolutely favorite rock climbing gym of all time, Coeur Climbing Company in Post Falls ID.

Doors will open bright and early for registration, but unlike in years past we’ll have two redpoint rounds instead of one. This means depending on which category you register for, you’ll be competing at different times. 

The categories to split up are still TBD, but a general rundown of the day’s events are as follows:

  • Doors Open: 8am

  • Redpoint Round One: 9am - 12:30pm

  • Intermission/Registration: 12:30pm - 1pm

  • Redpoint Round Two: 1pm - 4:30pm

  • Food, Dyno Comp, Prizes: 4:30pm - 6pm

  • Finals Begin: 6pm

Bear in mind that the gym will be closing early at 7pm on Thursday, November 13th and will be completely closed on Friday, November 14th for routesetting and preparation.

Who Can Compete (and Watch)?

  • You, your friends, and us— the friendliest staff in the area, here to cater to your every whim. 

  • We’re thrilled to announce that Bank CDA is generously sponsoring a cash purse for the first, second, and third place winners this year! We’ll be handing out $200, $100, and $50 for our top three in the male and female categories. 

  • Also, competing registrants will be entered for a chance to receive a limited edition FlailFest T-shirt!

Registration is now open! Members, partner gym employees, and youth enjoy a special discount for entrance, so please follow the link and jump in on the Flail! Daniel began climbing indoors in the 1990s but quickly took his passion outdoors. After earning degrees in Engineering and Earth Science Education, he worked as a climbing guide and coach while pursuing personal climbing goals. Moving to Coeur d’Alene in 2006, Daniel began planning his dream of a full-service climbing gym. Coeur Climbing Company is the result of over 20 years of dedication to bringing year-round climbing to his community.
