About Craiglandia

In 2015 Craig Anderson purchased the 36 acres of land in Tumtum, Washington that is becoming better known as “Craiglandia.” This purchase aimed to preserve access to the land and keep it open for rock climbing and bouldering enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. Each sport route is well bolted, and at the top of all routes, quick clips are installed to reduce the risk of injury, especially for beginning climbers. Additionally, at the base of every climb are tags indicating the level of that climb, making it easier to navigate the various climbing sectors. For the comfort of its visitors, Craiglandia is outfitted with a bathroom that is professionally maintained monthly, along with shelters, picnic tables, and camping areas.

All funds raised by the comp will go to Craig and Amy Anderson for area development and maintenance. To make Craiglandia a safe place for all its visitors, Craig and others frequently conduct trail and belay station maintenance, including trimming bushes and trees, eliminating poison ivy and sticker bushes, and installing fixed lines and ladder rungs along some of the steeper approaches.
