Getting Your Stoke with the IFSC World Cup Series

If you're anything like us, your social media feed is inundated with posts featuring some of the dopest climbers in the world making some thrilling sends. You might've even noticed an uptick in climbing-related content in your algorithm — and we know the reason: the IFSC professional climbing circuit is about to begin! So strap in if you want to watch some sick sends, follow your favorite athletes around the globe, and see how all of that translates to your own climbing journey.

The Calendar

Starting May 15th in Salt Lake City, the IFSC (newly rebranded World Climbing) is poised to have yet another strong season with the best climbers going for it all. Featuring stops from France all the way to Santiago, Chile, this season is making all of us here at Coeur Climbing seriously stoked about our own climbing. There's something magical about watching Adam Ondra or Janja Garnbret effortlessly float up a climb to the point where you think, "Surely I could do that!" That inspiration can be just what you need when regular summer activities start competing for your time. Watch just a few competitions this season and you'll not only get motivated to get back in the gym — you might even find yourself attempting that sick drop-knee you saw Adam pull off.

And that's really the thing about Coeur Climbing. Since our walls are mostly vertical, we strive to make movement and technique the centerpiece of our routes. It's not just about pulling hard; it's about finding the right body positions that make your project sendable. You can see this reflected in the pro circuit too — these athletes have spent years perfecting every bit of technique they possibly can, an ethos we incorporate into our own climbing culture here at the gym.

A Local Connection

Remember that first competition in Salt Lake City? You'll want to specifically tune in for this one, because our very own Mason Keough will be competing! You might've seen Mason working the desk or coaching up the next generation in our Teams program, but on the side he's an already accomplished para-climber competing on the international stage. Coeur Climbing is incredibly proud to have him as an essential part of our team and to serve as his home training gym. He's putting in the work to climb at a high level — proof that technique, consistency, and community make a difference at any level of the sport.

So get stoked this season, set your sights on your ultimate project, and get into the gym for your own World Cup experience right here at Coeur Climbing Company. See you on the wall!
