GRAND OPENING RECAP
What an incredible afternoon!
The main takeaway:
We have an incredibly enthusiastic, supportive and close knit community in the Post Falls/Coeur d’Alene area, including longtime climbers and people just dipping their toes in the sport. We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it.
Highlights:
Alan Watts, Smith Rock developer and father of American sport climbing. What an inspiration– for climbers, and for anyone who isn’t afraid to push the limits and break the rules. And, super cool to hang out with as well! A HUGE thank you to Alan for joining us.
Seeing families tour the gym. We spotted tiny kids trying on climbing shoes at the shoe demo station and testing them out on the wall, and we saw many kids try their skills at the grip challenge too! Seeing so many young climbers was just a delight– serving families is a huge part of our mission.
Food and beverages. Notables were the lavender lemonade from Roast House, some seriously smooth nitro from Union, Roast House AND Doma, a great selection of beers and ciders from Typsy Gypsy, and of course mouthwatering burgers from Burger Dock.
The staff and volunteers. We couldn’t have parked all the cars, set up all the tents, handed out all of the tickets and goodies, given the tours, answered questions or made folks feel welcome without their tireless positivity and support, especially in the heat!
Music. Ryan Davis and Sean Kavanaugh set the perfect vibe with chill covers and gorgeous vocals.
The prize drawings. We gave away three MASSIVE prize bundles compiled from donations from our generous community partners (the combined value was almost $1000!), as well as awards for the winners of the climbing comp, the grip challenge, and the Coeur merchandise drawing.
Seeing people who don’t currently climb checking out our classes and demos– and decide they are going to get into climbing!
The goal was to celebrate Coeur Climbing Company with our supporters, and that goal was accomplished! Thank you to everyone who helped with the event and to all who attended!
Special thanks to our community partners: Doma Coffee Roasting Company, Sportsman & Ski Haus, Union Roasters, Outdoor Grip, The Typsy Gypsy, The North Face, Roast House, Outdoor Experience, Vertical Earth, Trek Bicycle Store Coeur d’Alene, The Burger Dock, Avant Coeur Gymnastics, Rambleraven Gear Trader, and EP Climbing Walls.
