Coeur Climbing + Sportsman & Ski Haus team up this Nov

We love a good local partnership, and this one's a natural fit. This November, we’re teaming up with our neighbors at Sportsman & Ski Haus in Coeur d’Alene on a two-way deal for anyone who likes their winters split between the mountain and the wall.

How it works

The deal runs in both directions. Make a qualifying purchase at one shop in November, and you'll leave with a card for a deal at the other.

Tune up, then climb

Buy any full-price ski shop service at Sportsman & Ski Haus this November, including a tune-up, boot fitting, or rental, and you'll get a card for a $15 day pass to Coeur Climbing. The day pass includes climbing gear rental, so your shoes, harness, and chalk bag are covered. That's a $28 value, and it means you can try climbing without buying or renting a single piece of gear.

Never climbed before? That's exactly who this is for. Your first visit starts with a quick waiver and orientation video, and our staff will help you get comfortable on the wall from there. If one visit turns into a winter habit, annual memberships at Coeur include your first month of rental gear free, so you can keep climbing before you invest in your own shoes.

Climb, then tune up

Buy a full-price day pass at Coeur this November, or go ahead and join, and you’ll get a card for a free ski or snowboard wax or $15 off any ski shop service at Sportsman & Ski Haus, including ski rentals. You'll need to buy your day pass or membership at the front desk to get your card.

Wax on. Chalk up.

Their shop handles everything from hot waxes and full tunes to boot heat molding and binding mounts, and you can reserve rentals online. It's a good time to get your gear sorted before the season starts.

The fine print

You don’t have to do both. Get your skis tuned and try climbing for $15, or come climb and save on your next tune-up.

You have to make your purchase between November 1 and November 30 to earn a card. Cards can be redeemed through December 15, 2026. Discounted passes and services don't count toward earning a card. Each card is good for one use per customer and must be redeemed in person, not online. Valid at the Sportsman & Ski Haus Coeur d’Alene store only.

Why we're doing this

We noticed a lot of overlap between our crowds. Skiers and snowboarders need something to do on rest days. Climbers need their skis or snowboards dialed in when the snow flies. And a lot of people around here are both. This seemed like a good excuse to send folks each other’s way.

A good North Idaho winter has an outdoor half and an indoor half. When conditions are good, you’re on the mountain. When it’s gray, icy, or just a Tuesday night, you can still get out of the house, move your body, and see some familiar faces at the gym. Pairing the two keeps you active all season instead of waiting around for the next storm.

It works on the training side too, since the grip, balance, and core strength you build on the wall carry over to the slopes.

Come say hi on November 7

On Saturday, November 7, Sportsman & Ski Haus kicks off season rentals, and it’s one of the busiest days of the year at their Coeur d’Alene store. Lookout Pass will be there selling season passes, along with the Lookout ski patrol and a few other local vendors. The Coeur crew will have a table, so stop by to say hi and ask us about climbing. If you’re picking up a season rental or getting your skis tuned that day, you’ll leave with a card for a $15 day pass at Coeur.

Two local shops, one North Idaho winter

The two shops are a short drive apart, so it's easy to hit both in one afternoon.
