How It Works

  • Skilled route setters prepare 40-50 challenging routes, each with a specific point value.

  • On competition day, climbers choose routes within a set time frame.

  • Judges stationed at climbing areas verify climbs, initial competitors' cards, and track scores.

  • Climbers tally their top five point-value routes for their final score after the ‘Redpoint’ style first round.

  • Awards are given to the top male and female climbers in each of the FIVE age/skill level categories.

  • The five highest-scoring OPEN male and female climbers advance to the 'Onsight' finals round.

  • During the intermission, climbers can relax, eat, and socialize.

  • New problems are set for the top OPEN competitors during the break.

  • The final round features three new routes for both men and women, with winners determined by route completion or progress.

  • The top five male and female OPEN competitors receive awards, with the largest prizes for the winners.

  • Top 10 OPEN finishers earn points towards qualification in the Idaho Climbing Championship series.

  • Those top OPEN finishers who are Idaho residents have the opportunity to compete in the Bouldering finals at the Boise Commons gym in December. The top finishes at two qualifying competitions will be combined to evaluate which contestants make it to the Idaho State Series Finals. So, it is important for prospective finalists to compete in at least two of the qualifying events. The other two events will be held at the Asana Gym and the Commons gym in Boise, ID.

Note: to prepare for the competition, portions of our gym will be closed Wednesday, November 8th and Thursday, November 9th. The gym will be completely closed to general climbing Friday and Saturday, November 10th and 11th.

Plan to rub shoulders with climbers from all over the region when you attend. You’ll get a chance to test your skill, gain valuable insights about how you can improve, and learn from watching other talented climbers. We know climbing competitions often become the highlight of a climber's year, and we’re stoked to offer this event to our community!

Register by November 8th to secure your spot and stay tuned for updates.

Member-only promo code ‘Compmember10’ can be applied to registration for discount at checkout.

Prepare for your first visit.
