Climbing For Good: The Spokane Mountaineers
Through our mutual love of all things climbing, Coeur Climbing Company has begun an initiative to better support local organizations through our Climbing for Good program. We’d like to take this opportunity to take a deeper dive into one of the partners we’ve established via this initiative, namely the Spokane Mountaineers! It is our best wishes that this mission proactively creates positive differences in our local community through climbing.
The Spokane Mountaineers Mission - Adventure, Education, Conservation
Established in 1915, the Spokane Mountaineers have been aspiring to promote and encourage good fellowship among lovers of outdoor life. This mission, while immensely important to the local rock climbing community, also spreads to all outdoor pursuits, hoping to educate and preserve future generations of local mountaineers. Today the Mountaineers are a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization dedicated to outdoor education, conservation, and recreation, offering skills schools, clinics, and trip programs in climbing, mountaineering, hiking, skiing, and more.
The club began with a small group of outdoor-loving librarians and has grown to include a wide range of activities for members of all ages, including backpacking, snowshoeing, Nordic and downhill skiing, paddling, and mountain biking, along with opportunities to connect with other outdoor enthusiasts in the Inland Northwest.
Coeur Climbing is proud to partner with such an altruistic organization devoted to making a positive impact in our community through the public awareness and stewardship of local outdoor lands.
A Little Bonus…
Not only has Coeur Climbing decided to highlight the Spokane Mountaineers for the incredible work they do in our community, we’ve gone one step further in our efforts to partner with them.
