Creativity in routesetting

Creativity and inspiration are an important part of the process. “Routes usually start off with an idea or move that seems interesting and different…I find inspiration in the holds, outdoor climbs, competition boulders, and past experience.” Angus eye-balling a dynamic pink problem set on Volumes.

The Technical Side

Tools and equipment include an impact driver, bits, headphones, approach shoes, and safety glasses. Routesetting requires ample storage for holds, volumes and other equipment. Routes / problems are stripped, cleaned, and reset weekly.
